Canto Mundial
Philip Ashley began working with Canto Mundial in 2021. Based in L'Alfaz del Pí, this vibrant choir is truly international, featuring members from six different countries. Canto Mundial performs a diverse repertoire that spans classical music, musical theatre, and songs in multiple languages, reflecting the rich cultural backgrounds of its singers.
The group regularly presents concerts at notable local venues such as The Comm (formerly Forum Mare Nostrum), the Casa de Cultura in L'Alfàs del Pi, the Centro Social in Playa de Albir, and other community locations across the Costa Blanca region. Each performance is thoughtfully curated to offer both the audience and the choir a unique and engaging musical experience, blending an eclectic mix of styles and languages.
Canto Mundial offers a welcoming environment for singers passionate about exploring varied musical traditions while delivering memorable concerts that celebrate diversity and artistic collaboration.
Rehearsals
The group meets every Wednesday afternoon from 1:15 PM (with singing starting at 1:30 PM) until 4:00 PM in the downstairs function room at The Comm in Alfaz del Pí. New members are warmly welcome to join this friendly and inclusive choir.
Participants typically sing in four-part harmonies, creating rich and rewarding musical experiences. While the ability to read music can be helpful, it is not essential—Philip provides all the support and resources needed to help you learn and enjoy every song.
