Sounds familiar is an amateur theare group run by Philip Ashley on the Costa Blanca in Spain. It formed as a group in late 2008 following some singing workshops held during the summer of that year. Participants of the workshops wanted to take their singing further, and using music that they had already learnt and other numbers the group's first public theatre performance was in February 2009.
Philip believes that singing should be fun, for those participating and the audience. To that end music performed by the group should also be familiar to the audience, hence the name - Sounds Familiar. With the ever increasing availability of live entertainment, television, theatre and even the internet the group firmly believe that their job is to "entertain the audience, not to educate".
We are currently in rehearsals for our new show "Broadway Baby" to be performed in Spring 2012. Anyone wanting to join the cast, or have a go at this fun and rewarding hobby for the first time, can come along to Bar La Torre in Benissa on Monday evenings at 7pm. Rehearsals are only 3 euros a week.
Please call Philip for further details on 96 558 1483 or
send him a message.
